This course is designed for the person or persons who have been appointed by their company to cover in the absence of the First Aider. It is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks, where a nominated or appointed person is required to take charge in the event of an illness or accident.

The course programme, therefore, gives suitable persons the basic knowledge of First Aid, to enable them to deal with emergencies in the workplace. They will learn basic life saving First Aid and workplace Health & Safety Regulations.

The course will cover:

– The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider

– Assessing an incident

– Managing an unresponsive casualty

– CPR and AED use

– Recovery Position

– Choking

– Seizures

– Shock

– Wounds and bleeding

– Minor injuries – cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds
