Grant Guidance

Grants and funding options vary across the county depending on different funding sources. Some opportunities are available countywide, while others are provided by Local Authorities.

What’s the difference between funding & grants?

Funding

Funding refers to set courses offered for the benefit of your employees, typically delivered by training providers, colleges, or universities, covering a range of subjects but mainly focusing on Level 2/3 education.

Grants

Grants, on the other hand, allow you to apply for a specific amount of money to invest in any necessary training not covered by funding schemes. This provides flexibility to tailor training to the specific needs of your organisation.

Funding & Grant Availability

Both funding and grants can vary in terms of availability. If you come across a course of interest, it should indicate whether there is funding available to support it. If uncertain, please email skillshub@staffordshirechambers.co.uk with your location and the course you’re interested in, and they will provide the latest information on offers. New funding and grant incentives will be announced through the Skills Hub LinkedIn page, Chamber updates and Daily Focus – the voice to Staffordshire Businesses.

As part of the due diligence process we request CV’s and references for the trainers – so even if you have just started as a business as long as can obtain references that will be fine.

Primarily we focus on Staffordshire based organisation, however there are exceptions:

  • Can demonstrate you have trainers and learners based in the county and looking to grow.
  • Offer training that is unique and not available currently from Staffordshire providers.

Please contact skillshub@staffordshirechambers.co.uk for the application form that you can circulate to your employers. The Skills Hub would need to receive the form direct from the employer for us to make the introduction to the Levy Sharers – but as the provider we can include you in this process.

Grants are very limited so you would need to check on a regular basis. If new funding becomes available, it will be highlighted on the homepage of the website. As a provider you will also be notify directly on any new offers and incentives. But remember grants are offered on a first come first served basis, so your clients will need to be quick to submit.
