Lead educators take a leading role within their setting, both in practice and at an operational level. They are highly skilled and take an operational lead for the care, learning and development of young children within their care, adapting individual needs providing inclusive and holistic provision. They lead on the operational aspects of their setting and are typically responsible for leading other practitioners and report directly to the head of the setting who could be the manager, leader or director.
